Thibault, softball walk off Maine on Thursday

WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross softball junior Callie Thibault smacked an opposite field walk off triple as the Crusaders earned a 3-2 victory in game one of a nonconference doubleheader against Maine Thursday before falling 11-10 in game two on Freshman Field.

The split sends the Crusaders to 11-32 on the season and the Black Bears' mark improves to 4-33. Holy Cross concluded their nonconference slate at 10-21.

Thibault dug into the batter's box with runners on first and second with no outs in the bottom of the seventh. She stayed with the first pitch of the at bat and slapped it down the right field line clearing the bases in the process. She went 3-for-4 in the game which was her second three hit showing this season.
