STARTING IN THE CIRCLE:
- Junior Megan Yurchick: W, (9-13), complete game, five hits allowed, earned run, four walks, two strikeouts.
- Rachel McCarroll: L, (8-13), complete game, five hits allowed, two earned runs, three walks, four strikeouts.
STEPPING TO THE PLATE:
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Dartmouth took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first when an RBI groundout put them ahead. Yurchick made a nice glove scoop to home to prevent a run and she induced a groundout to shortstop which concluded the frame.
- The Crusaders put two runners on in the bottom of the third with no outs as Mott pulled a two-bagger into the left centerfield gap. With one down, Brait barreled an opposite field double to left center to unload the bases and give the Crusaders a 2-1 edge.
- In the sixth following a leadoff single, Yurchick induced a double play ball 6-4-3 marking it the first double play the Big Green grounded into this season. She then punched out the next batter swinging to end the inning.
- A one out single to left coupled with a fielder's choice put the tying run in scoring position with one away. On the second pitch of Leila Hennessy's at bat, she smoked the ball to first baseman, senior Peyton Morehouse and she gloved the ball on a line and tagged the first base bag unassisted for the contest concluding twin killing.
DUE UP:
- The Crusaders wrap up Patriot League action this weekend starting on Saturday, April 29 against Lehigh for a Senior Day contest.
- First pitch is scheduled for noon.
