HAMILTON, N.Y. – The Holy Cross women's soccer team traveled to Colgate for the last regular season game of the year on Wednesday night. After a scoreless first half, the Raiders scored three goals within 10 minutes to take the 3-0 win over the Crusaders to punch Colgate's ticket to the postseason.
In the first half, neither team managed to get on the board with both teams taking chances to get there.
In the second half, the Raiders scored back-to-back goals within two minutes of one another at the 59:20 and 61:04 marks for the 2-0 lead. Five minutes later Colgate struck again for their third and final goal of the match. The Crusaders lost 3-0 to the Raiders and fell short in their pursuit to the postseason.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- In the first half, neither team scored with the Raiders leading the Crusaders 5-4 in shots and 1-0 in corners
- In the second half, Lafayette scored three goals within 10 minutes at the 59:20, 61:04, 66:36 marks.
- Colgate led Holy Cross 10-9 in shots
- The Crusaders lead the Raiders in corners 2-1
