BALTIMORE, Md. – The Holy Cross women's soccer team made their way to Maryland to face off with the Greyhounds on a very rainy Saturday afternoon. Loyola took a 1-0 lead over the Crusaders in the first half and tacked on two more goals in the second half to take the 3-0 win over Holy Cross.

In the first half, Holy Cross controlled the pace of the game until the 31:54 mark with the Greyhounds Baylee DeSmit struck first on the scoreboard. DeSmit was involved in every scoring opportunity Loyola had on the day.

Loyola extended their lead in the opening minute of the second half with a goal by Alex Searing assisted by DeSmit. DeSmit netted one last goal in the last three minutes of play to take the 3-0 win over the Crusaders

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• In the first half, Loyola scored at the 31:54 mark
• In the second half, the Greyhounds scored at 45:48 and 87:52
• Loyola led Holy Cross 15-7 in shots and 7-0 in corners in the match

INSIDE THE BOX:

• Senior midfielder Allie Raynor and junior defender Grace Soltesz led the Crusaders in shots with two a piece
• Junior goalkeeper Julia Walsh had three saves in the match

• The Crusaders return to action on Tuesday, October 17 at 5 p.m. to host Chicago State in a non-conference matchup and their Pink Game at Linda Johnson Smith Soccer Stadium.
