The Holy Cross women's soccer team will begin Patriot League play when it faces American at Linda Johnson Smith Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 17, at 2:00 p.m.
Things to Know About the Crusaders (0-5-3, 0-0-0 Patriot League):
• Holy Cross stands 0-5-3 so far this year, and is coming off a 4-0 loss at Maine on Sunday.
• Sophomore goalkeeper
Olivia Dubin posted her second shutout of the year at Rhode Island on Sept. 8, while making five saves. She previously recorded a season-high eight saves against Boston College on Aug. 28. Dubin has now recorded at least three saves in each of her last 11 games played, dating back to 2021. Overall this season, she has totaled 35 saves with a 1.71 goals against average.
• Junior midfielder
Sydney Baldwin scored the first goal of her collegiate career at Bryant on Sept. 4. Her goal tied the score at 1-1 in the 66th minute, when she one-timed the ball into the net off a corner kick by junior forward
Ellie Zern.
• Senior forward
Colleen McIlvenna scored her first goal of the season during the Aug. 31 game with Maine. In two seasons with the Crusaders, McIlvenna has now totaled nine points on three goals and three assists in 24 games played.
• Junior defender
Francesca Ciatto scored the first goal of her collegiate career at Siena on Aug. 21.
Scouting the Eagles (1-1-4, 0-0-0 Patriot League):
• American has an overall record of 1-1-4 on the season. The Eagles have tied their last three games, including a 2-2 draw with Old Dominion on Sunday.Â
• Senior forward Fisayo Iluyomade, junior forward Izzy Kadzban, senior midfielder Cailin Panacek and senior midfielder Alysa Vazquez have all scored goals for American this season.
• Sophomore goalkeeper Julia Kato owns a 1.01 goals against average with 24 saves on the season.
Series History:
• The Eagles hold a 10-5-5 lead in the all-time series between the schools, but the Crusaders stand 3-1-3 over the last seven games.
• In the last meeting, on Sept. 18, 2021, Holy Cross and American played to a 1-1 double overtime tie in Washington.
