The Holy Cross women's soccer team heads down the road for an out-of-conference contest at Boston College on Sunday, August 29. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT THE CRUSADERS (0-1-2):
- After a pair of ties to begin the season, the Crusaders suffered their first setback of the season with a 1-0 loss to Fairfield on Thursday, Aug. 25.
- Junior defender Francesca Ciatto and sophomore forward Ashley Blaka lead Holy Cross with six shot attempts apiece this season; Ciatto has five shots on goal this year, a team high.
- In two starts, sophomore goalkeeper Olivia Dubin has made eight saves and allowed just one goal.
THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT THE EAGLES (2-1-0):
- Boston College also comes off a loss, having fallen to Michigan on Thursday by a score of 1-0.
- The Eagles' wins this year have come in the form of a 2-0 win vs. Villanova on Aug. 18 and a 4-1 victory over Northeastern on Aug. 21.
- So far this season, Emily Sapienza leads the Eagles with a pair of goals on the season. Ella Richards has recorded a goal and an assist.
- Wiebke Willibrandt has started all three games in net for BC, with 10 saves and just two goals allowed.
- Boston College finished the 2021 season with a 7-10-1 record overall. Richards led the Eagles last season with 20 points on the year, off eight goals and four assists.
LAST TIME THEY MET:
- Holy Cross and Boston College most recently faced off a season ago, with the Eagles winning 5-3 on Sept. 12, 2021.
- The Crusaders have never won against the Eagles, with an 0-20-1 record all time in a series dating back to 1983.
