Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Crusaders fall to Boston College in Sunday matinee

NEWTON, Mass. — The Holy Cross women's soccer team lost to Boston College, 3-0, in nonconference play on Sunday, Aug. 28 at the Newton Soccer Complex.
 
The Crusaders move to 0-2-2, while the Eagles improve to 3-1-0.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The Eagles got on the board early in the first half when Emily Sapienza shot one past sophomore goalkeeper Olivia Dubin at the 4:59 mark.
  • Senior forward Samantha Adams had the only shot on goal of the first half for the Cruasders as Holy Cross entered the second half trailing by one.
  • The Eagles added another when Sophia Lowenberg passed the ball up to Sam Smith, who beat Dubin on the right side to bring the score to 2-0 in the 82nd minute.
  • Boston College sealed its victory when Sydney Segalla knocked one to the left of Dubin, bringing the final score to 3-0.
 
OUTSIDE THE BOX:
  • Dubin made eight saves during the contest, a season high.  
UP NEXT:
  • Holy Cross will head back home as Maine takes a trip to Linda Johnson Smith Stadium on Wednesday, Aug. 31 at 7 p.m.
