Holy Cross falls to Loyola (Md.)

Box Score BALTIMORE, Md. – The Holy Cross women's soccer program was downed by Loyola (Md.) 1-0 in their fifth conference match of the season Saturday afternoon.

The loss sends the Crusaders to 0-9-4 (0-4-1 Patriot League) on the year while the Greyhounds improve to 7-5-1 (3-1-1 Patriot League).
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • In the first half, both defenses played strong. Loyola out-shot Holy Cross 5-2, with two shots on goal. 
  • Loyola managed a goal with 12:52 remaining in the regulation.
INSIDE THE BOX:
  • The Crusaders were out-shot 10-5 and the Greyhounds led in corner kicks 5-2. 
  • Goalkeepers Olivia Dubin recorded three saves on the night.
  • There were 26 penalties throughout the game. Loyola tallied three in the first half followed by seven in the second. 
UP NEXT:
  • Holy Cross remains on the road to continue Patriot League play. The Crusaders will travel to Baltimore, Md. to play Loyola at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct 8.
