BURLINGTON, Vt.— Despite a strong comeback effort that began in the second quarter, the Holy Cross field hockey team fell to the Vermont Catamounts, 3-2, on Tuesday afternoon.
After allowing an early Vermont goal, sophomore
Katie Guden potted her first goal as a Crusader to tie the score at 1-1 in the second quarter. Guden's goal was assisted by junior
Rachel Perry.
The Catamounts then scored two straight goals to take a 3-1 lead. With just over 15 seconds left to play, junior
Sinead Walsh scored the final goal of the game to push the final score to 3-2 still in favor of the Catamounts. Freshman
Meggan Fourie was credited with the helper on Walsh's goal.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

- Just two games into the season, junior Sinead Walsh has now tied her previous season-best mark of two goals in a season.
