WORCESTER, Mass.— Behind goals from
Allie McDonough and
Caitlin Little, the Holy Cross field hockey team defeated the Bryant Bulldogs, 2-0, on Tuesday night at Hart Turf Field. Holy Cross improves to 3-3 overall, while the Bulldogs drop to 0-9.Â
The Crusaders got on the board first in the second period, after McDonough swiped the ball from Bryant and took it in to score her second goal of the season. McDonough now has two game-winning goals on the season.
Little posted her third goal in two games off a penalty corner to push the eventual final score to 2-0 in the third.
Lily Watson and
Sinead Walsh assisted Little's goal. Little now leads the Crusaders with seven points off three goals and one assist.
Emma Lauber posted the first shutout of her career with four saves against the Bulldogs.
Meaghan Noone posted the first defensive save of her career to help preserve the shutout victory for the Crusaders.
Bryant's goalie Marijn Jaarsma made 10 saves for the Bulldogs and Brittany Gouws led them with four shots.
