The Holy Cross women's soccer team returns to action this weekend with a pair of road games against Ivy League opponents. The Crusaders will travel to Dartmouth on Friday, Aug. 27, at 7:00 p.m., and then head to Brown on Sunday, Aug. 29, at 3:00 p.m.
Things to Know About the Crusaders (0-2, 0-0 Patriot League):
• Holy Cross is off to an 0-2 start so far this year, falling to UMass Lowell (2-0) and Siena (2-1).
• During the Siena game, junior forward
Katie Quinn scored the Crusaders' first goal of the season on an unassisted tally in the 82nd minute. Quinn is currently Holy Cross' active leading scorer with 10 points on four goals and two assists in 23 career games played.
• During the UMass Lowell game, freshman goalkeeper
Olivia Dubin totaled 19 saves, the most by a Crusader in a single game in over 19 years. Through two games played, she has now totaled 22 saves with an .846 save percentage.
Scouting the Big Green (0-0, 0-0 Ivy League):
• Dartmouth will be playing its season opener when it faces Holy Cross on Friday night.
• Due to COVID-19, the Big Green have not played since the 2019 season when they went 10-6-1 overall and 1-5-1 in the Ivy League.
• Junior forward Allie Winstanley is the team's top returning scorer, after recording 25 points on 10 goals and five assists in 2019.
Scouting the Bears (0-0, 0-0 Ivy League):
• Brown will open the season at Hofstra on Friday, before facing the Crusaders on Sunday.
• Due to COVID-19, the Bears have not played since the 2019 season when they went 14-2-3 overall, won the Ivy League with a 6-0-1 mark in conference games and advanced to the NCAA Tournament.
• Junior forward Brittany Raphino is the team's top returning scorer, after totaling 19 points on eight goals and three assists in 2019.
Series History with Dartmouth:
• Holy Cross holds a 6-5-0 lead in the all-time series between the schools, but Dartmouth has won the last three meetings.
• The last game between the schools came on Oct. 9, 2018, when the Big Green posted a 3-0 victory in Worcester.
Series History with Brown:
• The Bears hold a 15-3-4 advantage in the all-time series between the schools, including four straight wins and a 9-0-2 mark in the last 11 meetings.
• The teams last played on Sept. 9, 2018, when Brown recorded a 2-1 overtime victory in Providence.
