WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross Athletics has partnered with the College and Daktronics to enhance the Fitton Field experience for the Crusader community, announcing the installation of a new LED video board this spring.

The more than 900-square-foot end zone display features more than 550,000 LEDs and a 15HD pixel layout to bring state-of-the-art image clarity and contrast that will support a wide array of College-sponsored events, from home football games to commencements.

"We are excited to partner with the College to make this project, which will benefit our entire campus community, a reality," said Director of Athletics Marcus Blossom. "This video board will significantly enhance our football game day environment and will provide the College with a variety of opportunities to support new or improved campus events at Fitton Field. This will allow our fans to enjoy Crusader football games in a whole new way, and we are looking forward to adding the next level of entertainment to Saturdays this fall."

Variable content zoning on the 48-foot-wide display will allow Holy Cross to share any combination of live video, instant replay, up-to-the-minute statistics and game information, graphics, animations, and sponsorship messages, engaging fans in the game day atmosphere in new and exciting ways.

This industry-leading technology, which will debut at the 2021 Commencement Ceremony on May 21, is one of many game day improvements aimed at giving Crusader football fans an enhanced experience at Fitton Field. The home of Crusader football since 1905, Holy Cross has won seven league titles while playing inside the stadium, one of the most historic in the country. The Crusaders are 382-192-27 at Fitton Field, including winning the 2019 Patriot League Championship.
