Women's soccer hosts Boston University on Senior Day

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross women's soccer team will host Boston University this Sunday, March 21 for an 11 a.m. matchup. The game will serve as the team's Senior Day.

The game will be broadcast live on ESPN+.

Things to Know About the Crusaders (1-0):
  • Holy Cross started its season off strong with a 2-1 win over Lafayette last week. Goals by Lexi Ansaldi and Katie Quinn, as well as six saves from Sophia Lettieri, lifted the Crusaders to victory.
  • The Crusaders got on the board first with Ansaldi's goal in the 4th minute of action, but the Leopards would tie things up 28 minutes later to go into the half tied at 1. In the 62nd minute, Quinn found the game-winner to start the season off 1-0.
  • Claire Carew and Caroline Harkins recorded assists on the day.
  • Harkins and Lettieri both earn Patriot League weekly awards for their efforts in the win. Harkins was named the Defender of the Week, while Lettieri earned Goalkeeper of the Week.
  • The win was head coach Kyle Bak's first as a head coach.
Things to Know About the Terriers (1-1):
  • BU opened the season with a 2-0 loss to Army, but bounced back last week with a 2-0 win over Colgate. Jenna Oldham and Geovanna Pereira scored the Terriers' goals in the win, and Morgan Messner made two saves for the shutout victory.
  • Messner has started both games in goal for the Terriers this year and has posted a 1.00 goals against average and a .667 save percentage.
  • Oldham earned Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week honors for her three-point day against Colgate. She had the assist on the game-winning goal in addition to a goal of her own.
Last Time They Met:
  • Last season, the Crusaders defeated the Terriers 2-1 for the first time since 1995.
  • BU struck first in the 5th minute, but Holy Cross used two second-half goals to come back for the win. Paige Epp scored in the 51st minute and then-senior Kelly Crowley got the game-winner to go in the 79th.
  • Lettieri had four saves in the game.
