Men’s swimming and diving downed by Iona

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – Sophomore Charlie Nascimben won two individual events, but the Holy Cross men's swimming and diving team was defeated by Iona 180-108 at the Hynes Center Pool. The Crusaders begin the dual meet portion of their season at 0-1, while the Gaels open the year 1-0.

Nascimben earned first place finishes in the 100-yard breaststroke (59.55) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:12.79), in addition to placing second in the 200-yard individual medley (2:00.23). Sophomore Chris Clow also won two events for Holy Cross, capturing first in the one-meter diving (196.65) and the three-meter diving (197.75).

The Crusaders will return to action on Friday, Oct. 15, when they play host to Bucknell at 4:00 p.m.
