The Holy Cross women's soccer team will play its final game of the 2021 season when it travels to Colgate for a 7:00 p.m. contest on Wednesday, Oct. 27.
Things to Know About the Crusaders (1-14-1, 0-7-1 Patriot League):
• Holy Cross stands 1-14-1 overall and 0-7-1 in the Patriot League this year. The Crusaders are coming off a narrow 1-0 loss to Navy on Saturday.
• The Crusaders have six student-athletes who will be concluding their collegiate careers at the end of the 2021 season: forward
Lexi Ansaldi, midfielder
Paige Epp, midfielder
Olivia Ferrara, defender
Avery Gardner, defender
Caroline Harkins and defender
Grace Keith. These six individuals were honored in a special pregame ceremony prior to the Oct. 9 contest against Loyola (Md.).
• Junior forward
Katie Quinn leads the team in scoring with eight points on four goals this season. She has scored goals against Lehigh, Boston College, Bryant and Siena this year. Quinn is currently Holy Cross' active leading scorer with 16 points on seven goals and two assists in 37 career games played.
• Junior forward
Colleen McIlvenna recorded assists on all three of the Crusaders' goals in the Sept. 12 game at Boston College. She tied the school single-game record with her three assists, matching the marks of Audrey Smith (vs. Lafayette, Oct. 26, 1991) and Courtney Cohen (vs. St. Peter's, Sept. 11, 2015). On the season, McIlvenna ranks second on the team in scoring with seven points on two goals and three assists.
• Freshman goalkeeper
Olivia Dubin posted her first career shutout during the victory over Bryant, while making a career-high 19 saves against UMass Lowell in the season opener. She currently leads the Patriot League and ranks 44th in the nation with an average of 5.7 saves per game.
Scouting the Raiders (6-8-2, 2-4-2 Patriot League):
• Colgate enters the game with an overall mark of 6-8-2 and a 2-4-2 record in the Patriot League. The Raiders stand 0-4-2 over their last six games, but have a 4-0-2 mark at home this season.
• Senior midfielder Hannah Pinkus leads the team in scoring this year with 16 points on six goals and four assists.
• Senior Grace Poncsak has started 11 games in goal for Colgate this season, posting a 1.12 goals against average with 44 saves.
Series History:
• The Raiders hold a 29-8-4 lead in the all-time series between the schools, which began in 1984. Over the last five games, Colgate owns a narrow 2-1-2 advantage.
• In the last meeting, the Raiders posted a 4-0 victory in Hamilton on April 3, 2021.
