Holy Cross to host 2022 & 2026 NCAA men’s ice hockey regionals

WORCESTER, Mass. – The College of the Holy Cross has been selected as the host for NCAA Division I men's ice hockey regionals at the DCU Center in 2022 and 2026. Holy Cross previously held this event at the DCU Center in 2008, 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016 and 2018.

"We are excited to be working with the DCU Center to host two more NCAA regionals," said Holy Cross Director of Athletics Marcus Blossom. "We appreciate once again having this opportunity to provide a postseason hockey atmosphere that is second to none, especially after having the 2020 event canceled due to COVID-19. We look forward to bringing some of the top programs in the nation to Worcester for these regionals in 2022 and 2026."

The 2022 event will mark the 16th overall time that a regional will take place at the DCU Center. Ten of the 15 teams to win a regional in Worcester have gone on to play in the national championship game, with six of those teams winning the national title. The total of 51 NCAA regional hockey games which have been played at the DCU Center are currently the most in the history of the Division I men's ice hockey tournament.

Holy Cross was also scheduled to host the 2020 NCAA Northeast Regional, before that event was canceled due to COVID-19.
