BRONX, N.Y. – The Holy Cross men's soccer team was tripped up at Fordham, 5-0, on Sept. 14. Bobby Hurstak had a good performance in goal, making a season-high six saves.
In the 10th minute, Fordham's Luke McNamara scored from 30-yards out, giving the Rams an early lead. Hurstak went on to make four more saves in the first 45 minutes to keep the Rams at bay, 1-0.
In the second half, the Crusaders' defense was unable to hold back the Rams, as they scored four goals and two in the final 10 minutes of action. In the 51st minute, Jorgen Oland scored after a free kick bounced around along the left post and Oland was able to get a foot on it. In the 69th minute, Fordham capitalized on a penalty kick to make the game, 3-0. In the final 10 minutes, McNamara added a second goal and Bart Dziedzic scored to finish the game.
