WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross men's soccer team was narrowly defeated by Colgate, 2-1, in the Crusaders' season finale on Nov. 6. Jack Ostrosky tallied his second of the season and Bobby Hurstak played to six saves.
 
In the 21^st minute, Holy Cross took a 1-0 lead when Ostrosky collected a Max Krause rebound six yards from the far post a slotted a ball into the goal for his second of the year. Hursktak picked up five saves in the first half to keep Colgate off the board.
 
In the 53^rd minute, Drew Fischer scored on a penalty kick to even the game, 1-1. Holy Cross' defense held strong, holding off nine Raider shots. But in the 90^th minute and with five seconds left in regulation, Edward Bass sent a shot to ricochet off the far post and bounce over the goal line.

"It was certainly a tough ending, the boys came out with fighting spirit in this last game and I think they deserved a little more than what we got. The seniors battled and competed hard and I thought everyone fought for each other tonight. Unfortunately, we did not get the result."
