WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross men's soccer team claimed its first win of the 2019 season in a 1-0 victory at Boston University. Max Krause capitalized in the 18th minute and Bobby Hurstak recorded his first-career win and clean sheet.
The Crusaders (1-8, 1-2 PL) held the offensive advantage in the opening half, as they recorded six shots to BU's one. Krause tallied his third of the season on a 15-yard kick in the 18th minute. Matthew Volz recorded his first career assist on the play and the Crusaders went ahead, 1-0.
Holy Cross' defense held strong in the second half as it faced seven Terrier (0-9-1, 0-3 PL) shots. The Crusaders defended six corner kicks in the final 45 minutes to maintain their first clean sheet of the season.

“It was tough fight, a battle. It wasn't easy and in the end it's about the result. Playing the majority of second half played a man down, the boys showed character and discipline. It was a well-deserved victory. I thought with the fight, we deserved to win and credit to all the boys who played tonight.”
