AMHERST, Mass. – The Holy Cross women's soccer team fell to UMass by a score of 1-0 on the road on Sunday afternoon. Both teams were able to generate scoring chances in the first half, as the Minutewomen held a narrow edge in shots at 9-7 in the first 45 minutes. UMass was able to break the scoreless tie in the 44th minute, as Kelly Marra scored with a header off a corner kick.
The Crusaders responded with added pressure in the second half, outshooting the Minutewomen 8-7. Holy Cross also led UMass in corner kicks during the second half, 3-0. Despite notching six shots on goal in the second half, the Crusaders were unable to find a tying goal.
