HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Rams took a 1-0 lead in the fifth minute of play with a penalty kick goal from Julia Suarez.
• Amanda Tredway extended VCU's lead in the 25th minute, making it 2-0.
• The Rams added a third goal in the 36th minute with a score from Megan Dell.
• Holy Cross answered in the 43rd minute to cut VCU's lead to two, as Shaw was able to find the back of the net off an assist from senior forward Christina Napolitano.
• Maddi Santo notched the only goal of the second half in the 62nd minute of play, making it 4-1 VCU.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

• Sophomore goalkeeper Emma Gurchiek made six saves in the first half, while senior goalkeeper Brooke Holle made two saves in the second half.
• Audrey Sanderson stopped seven shots for the Rams.
• Freshman midfielder Kelly Crowley led the Crusaders with two shots.
• Shots on net were 12-8 VCU.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

• Sophomore forward Andj Seslija was named to the VCU Invitational All-Tournament Team.
