• The Lead: Sophomore forward Andj Seslija led the Crusaders with three shots on net, as Holy Cross fell to Maine, 3-0, on the road Thursday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Black Bears took a 1-0 lead in the 34th minute of play, as Kaitlyn Ball scored with a header off a cross.
• Holy Cross had an opportunity to tie the game with a corner kick three minutes later, but a header by senior forward Christina Napolitano went just wide of the net.
• In the 45th minute of play, Nicole Bailey put Maine up 2-0 just before half time.
• Theresa Gosch made it 3-0 in favor of the Black Bears in the 57th minute of play.
• Seslija and freshman midfielder Kathleen Rizzo both registered shots on net in the second half, but were unable to find the back of the net.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

• Freshman goalkeeper Caroline Cashion made six saves in net for Holy Cross.
• Annalena Kriebisch stopped seven shots in goal to earn the win for Maine.
• The Black Bears outshot the Crusaders, 15-14.
