• “We had a great team effort today and we're very proud of our team,” said head coach Casey Brown. “This group has grown in many areas of the game throughout the season, and a big part of that has been the ability to find a way.”

HOW IT HAPPENED

• American outshot the Crusaders 4-3 in the first half, but neither team was able to find the back of the net in the first 45 minutes.
• Holy Cross was able to earn four corner kicks in the second half to boost their scoring chances.
• Wallace found the back of the net in the 76th minute, as she scored off a corner kick from junior midfielder Emily George to give Holy Cross a 1-0 lead.
• Senior goalkeeper Brooke Holle made a pair of saves in the second half to help the Crusaders earn the 1-0 win.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

• Holle made three saves for Holy Cross in the win.
• Colleen Vivaldi stopped four shots for American.
• Shots attempted were 8-6 in favor of the Eagles.
• Freshman forward Carly Flahive led Holy Cross with two shots.
