• The Lead: Albany's Alexa Schneider tallied a goal and an assist to help lead the host Great Danes to a 5-0 victory over Holy Cross in non-conference women's soccer action on Wednesday night at Bob Ford Field.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Albany scored the first goal of the game in the sixth minute (5:22), as Leanne Miller cleaned up a rebound after Kiana Ruger's initial shot bounced off the right post.
• Schneider made the score 2-0 in the 10th minute (9:14), as she launched a shot from 10 yards out inside the right post.
• The Great Danes tallied three goals in the second half from Vivian Vega (48:32), Allison Carhart (75:54) and Morgan Loder (87:58) to make the score its final, 5-0.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
• Albany goalkeeper Alana Brennan was called upon to make three saves in the shutout effort, while Crusader freshman goalkeeper Emma Gurchiek (Barrington, R.I.) made a trio of stops.
• The Great Danes held the statistical advantage in total shots (15-11), shots on goal (8-3) and corner kicks (6-1).
