Holy Cross Men's Lacrosse: Five Things to Watch

LEADERSHIP

The team will have eleven seniors this season, with Tyler Marmo, Will Messineo, and Damien Ramondo on attack; Billy Black and Brendan Lane in the midfield; Jack Dowling, Max Hubler, Julian Jenkins, and Michael Rincon on defense; and Sean Miller and JR Long in goal. The 11 seniors bring a combined 280 games of experience to the field.

FRESH FACES

The Crusaders added 13 new players to the roster during the offseason.

The freshman class, made up of three attackers: Paul Armstrong, Aedan Cassidy, and Tyler Rice; five midfielders: Davis Campbell, Caleb DaRocha, Carter McAndrew, Matthew Plunkett, and Crosby Thurmond; three defensemen: Joe Arizin, Mateo Corcoran, and Teddy McKeigue; goalkeeper Jack Durnan, and face-off man Shane McDonnell will look to make an impact at the start of their collegiate careers.

GOALKEEPERS

Seniors JR Long and Sean Miller return to the net for the Crusaders with game experience. Long, who started 12 games for Holy Cross last season, finished the 2025 campaign with a .486 save percentage and 12.51 goals-against average. Miller, who entered two games in relief and made three starts, finished the campaign with a 12.84 goals-against and .455 save percentage.

DEFENSIVE EXPERIENCE

Holy Cross returns seven players on the defensive line who started 10+ games last season – seniors Jack Dowling, Max Hubler, Julian Jenkins, and Michael Rincon; junior Gavin Clary; and sophomores Jaydon Franklin and Matthew Marchetta. The six defenders have combined for 225 ground balls and 113 caused turnovers in their careers.

The Crusaders return five other athletes on the defensive end with game experience – senior Brendan Lane, juniors Cooper Fallon and Paul Korian, and sophomores Jake Doran and Aidan Froh.

SCHEDULE

Holy Cross will play 15 games this season, six of which will be home at Kuzniewski Field.

Le Moyne returns to the Crusaders’ non-conference schedule this season after a year break, and the team will add Fairfield to the slate for the first time since 2015, and Hofstra for the first time. Providence, Merrimack, Sacred Heart, and UMass Lowell will round out the non-league games.

In their Patriot League schedule, the Crusaders will host Colgate, Lafayette, Loyola (Md.) and Boston University, and travel to Army, Lehigh, Navy, and Bucknell.
