Hall of Fame Spotlight | Tara Welch '07

The Holy Cross Varsity Club will induct six members into its Hall of Fame during its annual induction celebration on Saturday, Nov. 16.

Leading up to the celebration, we will be spotlighting each of the inductees and their accomplishments as a Crusader and beyond. Today’s featured Hall of Famer is Tara Welch ‘07 — a standout for the Holy Cross field hockey team.

FIVE THINGS TO KNOW 

  1. Welch is a three-time All-Patriot League selection and the 2006 Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year.
  2. As a senior, Welch led the Crusaders with 42 points on 19 goals and four assists, helping the team to an overall record of 14-6 as a senior, with the team finishing as the runner-up in the conference.
  3. Welch’s averages of 0.95 goals per game and 2.05 points per game as a senior stood 10th and 19th in the nation, respectively.
  4. Over the course of her four-year career at Holy Cross, Welch totaled 59 goals and 18 assists for 136 total points, graduating as the Crusaders’ all-time leader in both career goals and career points.
  5. In 2015, Welch was selected to the Patriot League 25th Anniversary Team.

WHERE ARE THEY NOW?

 Upon her graduation, Welch has pursued a career in foundational medicine.
