The Holy Cross football team resumes Patriot League action this Saturday, Oct. 26 with a road game at Lafayette. Kickoff is set for 1:30 p.m. in Easton, Pa. The game will be broadcasted live on ESPN+.

In their most recent game, the Crusaders (3-5, 2-0 Patriot League) erased a 20-point third-quarter deficit but fell in a heartbreaker to Harvard, 35-34, on Saturday, Oct. 19 at Harvard Stadium.

Sophomore running back Jayden Clerveaux rushed for a career-best 165 yards on 27 carries and scored a pair of touchdowns. Junior receiver Max Mosey had a career-high 149 receiving yards and two touchdowns — his first multi-touchdown game as a Crusader. One of his touchdowns was an 84-yard reception, the longest by a Crusader since 2017.

Senior tight end Jacob Petersen made four catches for 53 yards and scored a touchdown as time expired in regulation. Junior running back Sam Slade rushed for a season-high 62 yards.

Senior safety Jake Jarmolowich and sophomore linebacker Drew Spinogatti tied for a team-high eight tackles; senior linebacker Frankie Monte had six tackles on the day. Senior defensive tackle Kevin Gillis finished with a pair of sacks for a loss of 15 yards.

The Crusaders totaled a season-high 523 yards of offense to Harvard’s 355, including a 246-81 margin in rushing yards.

LAST TIME THEY MET: No. 11/15 Holy Cross' comeback attempt fell short against Lafayette, with the Crusaders falling 38-35 on Oct. 21, 2023. Holy Cross senior quarterback Matthew Sluka rushed for a career-best 330 yards on 28 carries — seven yards shy of the program single-game record, and setting a Division I single-game record for rushing yards by a quarterback — amid rainy conditions, while also scoring three touchdowns on the ground. Junior running back Jordan Fuller scored a touchdown and finished with 95 rushing yards. Senior wide receiver Jalen Coker caught a touchdown and had 49 receiving yards, making him the program’s all-time leader in career receiving yards. The Crusaders totaled 514 yards of offense, including 429 rushing yards. Fifth-year linebacker Jacob Dobbs finished with 14 tackles, including 1.5 tackles for a loss of five yards, a half sack and a quarterback hurry. Junior safety Curtis Harris-Lopez tallied seven tackles. Lafayette running back Jamar Curtis, who finished with 229 rushing yards and two touchdowns, was named the winner of the Anderson Award as the Family Weekend MVP.  The loss ended an impressive run of 18 consecutive wins in Patriot League contests for the Crusaders.
