With the experience from Oak Knoll on her resume, Hampton has taken advantage of plenty of creative content opportunities while at Holy Cross. Last year, the Patriot League recognized her talent, asking her to join their ranks as a Campus Correspondent.
“At the beginning of my junior year, I got an email from the Patriot League asking if I would be interested in being the Holy Cross Campus Correspondent,” said Hampton of how the opportunity came about. “I was able to create content about whatever I thought would be interesting, so I would think of fun questions to interact with other athletes whom I usually don’t get a chance to talk to. My favorite video I made would either be “Favorite Thanksgiving Food” or “Favorite Christmas Song” because hearing everyone’s answers was not only funny, but some were surprising!”
Her love for art did not just give her a way to express her love for high school or college classmates, but a way to showcase the work that her and her fellow Crusaders were doing in the community.
Working for Worcester, a student-run non-profit organization founded in 2012 by two Holy Cross hockey players who wanted to find a way to give back to the Worcester community, had an opening for their Director of Marketing position. Seeing it as the perfect way to get involved, Hampton applied for the position.
“W4W has its annual Build Day every spring, where thousands of volunteers unite by building, painting, gardening, and more at various sites across Worcester. I learned about W4W since many of my friends volunteered and loved it,” said Hampton of her initial involvement with Working for Worcester. “As Director of Marketing, I oversee and create content for all social media accounts and create merch designs. Being a member of Working for Worcester has been one of the most rewarding things I’ve done in my four years here on the hill. As a student-run non-profit organization, seeing all that is accomplished on Build Day and its significant impact on schools and kids is incredibly gratifying!”
