The No. 21 Holy Cross football team continues its road swing with a Patriot League matchup against Lehigh on Saturday, Nov. 4. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. in Bethlehem, Pa.

The Crusaders (5-3, 3-1 Patriot League) come off a gritty 49-47 victory over Fordham on Oct. 28. Holy Cross retained possession of the Ram-Crusader Cup, earning their seventh consecutive win against the Rams. Fordham scored a touchdown with 54 seconds remaining to cut within two points, but the two-point conversion attempt failed; the Crusaders recovered the ensuing onside kick to preserve the victory.

Making his first career start, junior quarterback Joe Pesansky completed 20 of his 33 attempts for 337 yards and a trio of touchdowns. Senior wide receiver Jalen Coker caught a touchdown and had 102 receiving yards.

Junior running back Jordan Fuller rushed for 116 yards and two touchdowns, becoming the program’s all-time leader with 38 career rushing touchdowns. Fifth-year running back Tyler Purdy had two touchdowns, one rushing and one receiving, with 115 total yards on the day, including 85 receiving yards.

Defensively, fifth-year linebacker Jacob Dobbs totaled 10 tackles, with an eight-yard sack. Junior linebacker Frankie Monte had eight tackles and a pass breakup. Senior cornerback Matt Duchemin recorded five solo tackles and a game-sealing, 68-yard pick-six.

This will be the 39th meeting between the Crusaders and the Mountain Hawks on the gridiron, with Lehigh leading the all-time series 19-18-1.

LAST TIME THEY MET: The No. 6 Holy Cross football team ran past Lehigh, earning a 42-14 victory to remain undefeated and clinch its fourth consecutive Patriot League title on Nov. 5, 2022 at Fitton Field. Holy Cross rushed for a season-best 338 yards as a team — its third game in the last four with over 300 rushing yards — totaling 470 yards of offense. Quarterback Matthew Sluka ran for a team-best 146 yards on the ground while scoring a touchdown; he additionally threw a touchdown and had 126 passing yards. Running back Peter Oliver had 136 rushing yards and scored a touchdown; running back Jordan Fuller rushed for three touchdowns. Defensively, linebacker Liam Anderson totaled nine tackles, including two for loss.  The Crusaders held Lehigh to just 281 yards of offense and only 81 rushing yards.
