The Lead: Five different Crusaders each found the back of the net as the Holy Cross men's soccer team defeated Siena, 5-0, on a rainy Tuesday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- In the 26th minute (25:37), junior Eric Dixon scored his first goal of the season with a shot from 30 yards out to the top of the goal. Freshman Tyler Bell posted an assist on the goal.
- The Crusaders took a 2-0 lead when senior Matt Villano sent a shot into the box that was deflected off a Siena defender and into the back of the net in the 30th minute (29:48).
- Junior Arno Rupp scored his first goal of the season as he chipped the ball from 18 yards out sending it to the top center of the goal in the 37th minute (36:39). Sophomore Owen Azrak recorded his first assist of the game.
- Azrak's second assist of the game allowed sophomore R.J. Place to score from eight yards out in the 39th minute (38:10).
- Freshman Antonio Terceros-Downey concluded the scoring when he sent a shot to the lower left corner of the net in the 82nd minute (81:47), after receiving a through ball from sophomore Bobby Barsic.
KOOLMAN'S KORNER:
- “Tonight was a great win,” said Holy Cross head coach Marco Koolman. “You know on a rainy night the ball can bounce different ways and we put ourselves in a good position to take advantage of that. Tonight we emphasized the importance of character and discipline, and we were able to execute the game plan. We can take the good from this game and talk about what we need to do better in order to face New Hampshire on Friday.”
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Sophomore goalkeeper Henry Stutz made two saves to secure the victory. Ryan Vyskocil made three saves for Siena, while Aleska Radosavljevic posted two saves.
- The Crusaders outshot the Saints 15-9. Holy Cross had 10 shots on goal, while Siena had two.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
- This is the Crusaders' best start to a season since also going 2-1 in the 2007 season.
- This is the team's second win in team history over Siena.
- Place and Tereros-Downey scored their first career goals.
- Barsic and freshman Rory Birse each posted their first collegiate points with assists.
- The Crusaders are 2-0 at home this season.
