Before the game the Crusaders honored senior captains Will Bowers (Raleigh, N.C.) and Michael Thompson (Cromwell, Conn.) for their hard work and dedication to the program over the last four years.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • In the seventh minute of the first half, Lehigh struck first when Jamie Luchini drove the ball up the middle, passed it along to Tuvesson, who found Bertrando open as he netted a goal 15 yards out into the lower left side past Thompson to give Lehigh the 1-0 lead (6:03).
  • The Mountain Hawks took a 2-0 lead in the 16th minute on an unassisted goal by Tuvesson that landed in the lower left side of the net.
  • Sophomore Joey DeVivo (Ridgefield, Conn.) took a shot from the left side of the box that was quickly stopped on a diving save by Lehigh goalie Ciaran Nugent in the 22nd minute.
  • In the 26th minute, junior Diego Ceron (Belleville, N.J.) crossed a pass to DeVivo as he headed the ball into the top left corner and out of the reach of Nugent to cut the lead in half at 2-1. The goal was DeVivo's team-best eighth of the season.
  • Tuvesson had back-to-back shots in the 72nd minute as goalie Kevin Wright (McKinney, Texas) made consecutive saves.
  • The Crusaders were unable to score the equalizer.

KOOLMAN ON THE GAME: "We had some chances in the first half and were able to take advantage of one, but we also had some chances in the second half and you  have to be able to finish," said Holy Cross head coach Marco Koolman. "We are a young team who've grown throughout the season. There are many positives from this season to focus on as we prepare for next year."
