WORCESTER, Mass. – Freshman Lauren Abbenante (Cranston, R.I.) has been named ECAC Women's East Rookie of the Week as the Holy Cross women's ice hockey team went 1-0-1 this past weekend, and are 7-1-1 overall. This is Abbenante's first ECAC East honor. 

In the Crusaders' 4-0 shutout victory over Wesleyan on Sunday night, Abbenante scored a power-play goal that helped Holy Cross seal the deal versus the Cardinals. Through nine games, she has four goals and two assists for six points. 

The Crusaders will return to the ice on Tuesday night to close out the 2014 calendar year with a non-conference matchup as they host Connecticut College for the SGA Game of the Week at 7:05 p.m.
