Men's Basketball Adds Ciaran Sandy to Incoming Class

WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross head men’s basketball coach Bill Carmody announced today that Ciaran Sandy will attend Holy Cross and play for the Crusaders. Sandy will be one of four players joining the Holy Cross program in the fall of 2019.

A 6-foot-7, 195-pound forward, Sandy is currently completing a post-graduate year at the Avon Old Farms School in Avon, Conn., where he played for head coach Tim Roller. He served as a team captain during the 2018-2019 season, averaging 15.6 points and 9.2 rebounds per game and earning honorable mention All-New England honors from the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council. Sandy is a 2018 graduate of the Gilman School in Baltimore, Md., where he played for head coach Will Bartz. He also played AAU ball for Mid-Atlantic Select and the Diamond Basketball Club.

“We are excited to have Ciaran Sandy joining our program,” said Carmody. “He brings a versatile skill set and more athleticism to our roster. His addition rounds out a strong incoming class that we expect to make a big impact next season.”

Holy Cross is coming off a 2018-2019 campaign in which if posted a 16-17 overall record.
