Volleyball Announces 2019 Schedule
WORCESTER, Mass. – Head coach Kathleen Colpoys announced the Holy Cross volleyball team’s schedule for the upcoming 2019 season on Friday, July 12.
The season will open with three games at the Penn State Classic on August 30 and 31, beginning with the season opener vs. Wichita State followed by a doubleheader against Penn State and Hofstra.
The Crusaders will then travel to Durham, New Hampshire, for the Holly Young Invitational, playing host University of New Hampshire on September 6 before playing Seattle University and Brown on September 7.
Holy Cross’ home opener will take place on September 10 against Merrimack beginning at 7:05 p.m.
The Crusaders will hit the road again on September 13, playing Valparaiso to open the DePaul Invitational in Chicago. The next day, Holy Cross will play DePaul and Central Michigan.
Following a home game against Harford on September 17, the Crusaders play one more nonconference tournament at UConn, facing the Huskies in the Dog Pound Challenge on September 19 before playing Providence and Dartmouth on September 21.
Holy Cross opens conference play at home on September 27 and 28 with contests vs. Loyola (Md.) and the defending Patriot League champion, Navy. On October 18, Holy Cross will host perennial powerhouse American – whom the Crusaders beat for the first time in program history in 2018.
The Crusaders will round out the regular season with five of their final six games at home, with the regular-season home finale scheduled for November 17 against Lehigh.
The Patriot League Tournament is scheduled to begin on November 19.
