Phillips comes in fifth at Wampanoag Classic
WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – Holy Cross junior Connor Phillips placed fifth at the Wampanoag Classic, which took place from Aug. 6-7 at the Wampanoag Country Club.
Phillips totaled 213 strokes over three rounds to finish the tournament at three-under par. His week included a three-under par 69 in round two, tying for the sixth-best 18-hole score of the tournament. Brandon Gillis, a sophomore at Rhode Island, won the title after totaling 208 strokes (eight-under par).
The Wampanoag Classic is a United States Challenge Cup Junior Golf Foundation event. Phillips competed in the men’s collegiate division of the tournament, which included 38 individuals.
