Men's Hockey Announces 2019-20 Captains
WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross men’s hockey head coach David Berard has announced the team captains for the 2019-20 season. Senior Jack Surowiec will lead the team as the captain. Joining him in the leadership ranks will be senior Kevin Darrar, junior Logan Ferguson, and sophomore Anthony Vincent as assistant captains.
“We are excited to announce our captains for the 2019-20 season,” said Berard. “In Jack, Kevin, Logan, and Anthony, we have four players that set the example for our team to follow and influence others to do the same. They are great teammates and have earned the respect of every member of our program. They are completely committed and accountable to our culture. We look forward to working with them and seeing what they can do this season.”
Surowiec, who was a mainstay in the Crusaders’ lineup in the 2018-19 season, has played in 67 career games as a forward. Surowiec has tallied five goals and five assists for 10 points. Surowiec played in 30 games as a junior and tallied his first-career goal against No. 4 UMass.
Darrar, a forward, who has played in 94 career games, has scored 14 goals and 23 assists for 37 points. In the 2018-19 season, Darrar tallied two game-winning goals. In all three seasons as a Crusader, Darrar has tallied double-digit points.
Ferguson, a forward, has played in 56 games and posted 22 points from seven goals and 15 assists. Ferguson earned the team’s Rookie of the Year award in the 2017-18 season.
An Atlantic Hockey All-Rookie Team selection, Vincent, has played in 35 games for the Crusaders and ranked second on the team in points in the 2018-19 season. Vincent led the team in assists, with 16 and ranks fifth in rookie assists at Holy Cross.
