WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross women’s rowing head coach Patrick Diggins has announced the captains for the 2018-2019 season. Lizzie Douglass, Kate Hegermiller, and Maegan Moriarty will lead the Crusaders through the 2018-19 season.

Douglass brings a wealth of experience to the Crusaders’ leadership core. Last season, she was named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll and was a mainstay in the varsity four boat. She was also a part of the varsity eight boat that won the Petite Final at the Patriot League Championship in 2017.

Hegermiller was also a Patriot League Honor Roll selection in 2018. Hegermiller recorded the team high of 11 appearances in the varsity eight boat. In 2016, she was a member of the freshman four that won silver out of 25 boats at the Head of the Schuylkill Regatta. That same season, Hegermiller was a member of the second varsity eight boat that won bronze at the Patriot League Championship.

Moriarty joins the leadership core as a junior after making 11 appearances in the varsity eight boat in her sophomore campaign. Moriarty was a 2018 Patriot League Academic Honor Roll selection. In her freshman season, Moriarty was a member of the second varsity eight boat that won bronze at the Patriot League Championship.

The Crusaders open their spring season on April 6 at Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Mass. when they host Colgate.
