Women's Hockey Has 18 Named to Hockey East All-Academic Team
WORCESTER, Mass. – Eighteen members of the Holy Cross women’s ice hockey team were named to the 2018-19 Hockey East All-Academic Team, as announced by the league Thursday.
Honorees include seniors Danielle Doherty, Jackie Gellner, Sam Girard, Amanda Kewer, Julie Matthias, Tori Messina, and Maeve Reilly, juniors Charlotte Abrecht, Maeve Christ, Hannah Gillis, and Maggie Hallisey, sophomores Allison Attea, Mackenzie Griffith, Antonia Matzka, and Julia Pelletier, and freshmen Emma Lange, Catherine Luciano, and Sarah Street.
To be recognized, a student-athlete must achieve a grade point average of a 3.0 or better in both semesters during the 2018-19 academic year. A record 149 student-athletes in total were named to the league’s all-academic team with New Hampshire having the most with 21, followed by Merrimack’s 19 and Holy Cross’ 18.
