Field Hockey Releases 2019 Schedule
WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross head field hockey coach Lindsay Jackson has announced the team’s 2019 schedule. The slate features 17 games, including 10 that will be played at home at the Hart Turf Field.
“We are very excited for the fall 2019 season," Jackson said. "Each game is important and we will be facing a great opponent in every match. We have been preparing since last winter and have a competitive, hard-working group that is ready to be put to the test."
The season kicks off with back-to-back home games against the first two of the Crusaders’ 11 non-conference opponents this season in Northeastern (Aug. 30) and Merrimack (Sept. 6). Holy Cross will play on the road for the first time at New Hampshire on Sept. 8. The rest of the early-season portion of the schedule includes matchups against Sacred Heart (Sept. 13) and Dartmouth (Sept. 15).
The Crusaders open Patriot League play at Lafayette on Sept. 21. The conference slate shakes out with Holy Cross hosting Lehigh (Sept. 28), Colgate (Oct. 5), and Boston University (Oct. 26), and traveling to American (Oct. 11) and Bucknell (Nov. 2).
Other non-conference opponents include Bryant (Sept. 24), Fairfield (Oct. 6), Vermont (Oct. 13), Brown (Oct. 16), UMass Lowell (Oct. 20), and Monmouth (Oct. 27).
The Patriot League Tournament begins with the semifinal round on Nov. 8 and concludes with the championship game on Nov. 10.
