Women's Lacrosse Announces Assistant Coach Additions
WORCESTER, Mass. – Head Holy Cross women’s lacrosse coach Amanda Belichick has announced the addition of two assistant coaches for the 2019-20 season. Jennifer Porretto will join the program as the attack and draw coach and Lauren Daly will work with the goalies and defense.
“I am very excited to welcome Jennifer and Lauren to Holy Cross,” said Belichick. “They both bring a wealth of knowledge and experience that will be a huge asset to the program. They will be excellent role models for our student-athletes, and have great energy, passion and love for the game. Jen and Lauren are proven winners and leaders, and I am eager to see the immediate impact they will have on the team and Holy Cross.”
Porretto joins the Crusaders after two seasons at the University of California-Berkeley as an assistant coach. At Cal, Porretto worked with the Golden Bears’ offense and helped guide the team to a 2018 Pac-12 Tournament appearance. In 2017 she helped lead the team to a MPSF Tournament for the first time since 2013.
In the 2016 season, Porretto served as a volunteer assistant coach at Ohio State. As a player, Poretto was a two-time captain at Ohio State and is part of the Buckeyes’ winningest class in program history, with 45 victories. She helped the team to back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances and was an All-Big Ten selection in 2015. Poretto finished her career with 101 goals and 31 assists and was a two-time IWLCA Academic Honor Roll member.
Daly joins the coaching staff after an impressive playing career at Boston College, where she played to a 34-4 career record. Daly played in three national championships and is part of the Eagles’ winningest class in program history at 71. In her career, Daly made 313 saves, ranking 6th all-time at Boston College. Daly is an IWLCA All-Northeast selection, All-ACC selection, and two-time ACC Academic Honor Roll member
