Men's Golf Announces Incoming Class

WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross head men’s golf coach Steve Napoli has announced his program’s incoming freshman class for the 2019-2020 school year.

The Crusaders have added a total of five student-athletes to their roster, including one individual each from Florida, Illinois, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and Puerto Rico. Holy Cross also returns six of its top eight individuals from last season, for a total of 11 players on the 2019-2020 roster.

Details on each of the five incoming freshmen follows.

Andrew Curran
Malvern Preparatory School (Malvern, Pa.)
• Won the 2018 Inter-Academic League title, shooting a 66 to finish seven strokes ahead of his nearest competitor
• His round of 66 at the Inter-Academic League Championship set a competitive course record at the Sunnybrook Golf Club
• Earned first team All Inter-Academic League honors as a senior, after being a second team selection as a sophomore
• A triplet, his brother, Fran (Middlebury College swimming), and sister, Lauren (Boston College field hocky), will also be collegiate athletes

Christian Emmerich
St. Mary’s High School (Lynn, Mass.)
• A two-time Division 3 individual state high school champion in 2017 and 2018
• Named the Boston Globe boys’ golf Athlete of the Year in 2017 and 2018
• A three-time All-Scholastic selection by the Boston Herald
• Earned Catholic Central League MVP honors as a senior, while being a four-time league all-star
• A qualifier for the 2019 Boys Junior PGA Championship, to be played in Hartford, Conn., from July 30-Aug. 2
• Champion of the 2018 Bay State Cup Invitational, shooting scores of 70, 70 and 72
• Won the 2018 Hartford Junior Classic by four strokes, shooting scores of 73 and 73

Henry Horgan
Oxbridge Academy (West Palm Beach, Fla.)
• Earned first team All-Palm Beach County honors from the Palm Beach Post as a senior
• Averaged 74.6 strokes per round during his senior year
• Led team to the 2018 district championship
• Father, P.H. Horgan, played on the PGA Tour for several years and currently competes on the Champions Tour

Peter Radler
Loyola Academy (Wilmette, Ill.)
• A two-time Illinois All-State selection in 2017 and 2018
• Placed fifth at the state championship as a senior, after finishing eighth as a junior
• Led team to league, sectional and regional championships in 2018
• Earned team MVP honors in 2018, while serving as team captain in both 2017 and 2018
• Placed seventh at the 2018 AJGA Wincraft Championship with scores of 70, 74 and 72

Juan Suau
College San Ignacio de Loyola (San Juan, Puerto Rico)
• Led San Ignacio to three consecutive Puerto Rico high school championships
• Won the 2019 Puerto Rico individual high school championship
• Placed second in the 2019 Puerto Rico Stroke Play with scores of 73, 71 and 68
• Grandfather, Juan “Tito” Franco, graduated from Holy Cross in 1960 was a captain of the tennis team
