Women's Track and Field to Host Patriot League Outdoor Championship

The Holy Cross women’s track and field team is set to host the Patriot League Outdoor Championship on Friday, May 3 and Saturday, May 4 at the Hart Center Track.

Who to Watch:

  • Senior Lauren Rasmus crushed a school record in the 400 meter hurdles at a home meet on April 20, clocking in at 1:00.88, the second-fastest time in the Patriot League this year.
  • Sophomore Christa Jay Moore ranks as the league’s top vaulter entering the outdoor championship, with a season-best of 3.86 meters.
  • The 4x100 meter relay team of seniors Isabella DiMare, Alexandra Curtin and Sarah Friess and junior Allie Smiley placed second at the Ocean State Invite on April 13, running a time of 47.06 seconds, which sits as the third-best time entering the championship.

Last Year:

  • The Crusaders placed sixth out of 10 teams at the 2018 Patriot League Outdoor Championship.
  • In her rookie season, Moore was the runner-up in the pole vault, clearing a mark of 3.85 meters.
  • Then-sophomore Jenna Gasparrini placed second in the 10,000 meters and third in the 5,000 meters.
  • As a freshman, Sydney McDonald had a fifth-place finish in the high jump.
  • Abbie Mokwuah placed third as a rookie in the shot put.
