Holy Cross To Host 2020 NCAA Men's Ice Hockey Northeast Regional
WORCESTER, Mass. – The road to the NCAA Frozen Four will once again begin in Worcester in 2020! The College of the Holy Cross has been selected as the host for the 2020 NCAA Division I men's ice hockey Northeast Regional at the DCU Center from March 27-28, 2020. Holy Cross previously held this event at the DCU Center in 2008, 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016 and 2018.
"Everyone at Holy Cross is excited to once again be teaming up with the DCU Center for the NCAA Northeast Regional,” said Holy Cross interim director of athletics Brendan Sullivan. “The city of Worcester and the DCU Center provide an electric atmosphere for collegiate ice hockey, and we look forward to welcoming some of the top programs in the nation for another outstanding regional in 2020."
The 2020 event will mark the 16th overall time that the regional will take place at the DCU Center. Ten of the 15 teams to win the regional in Worcester have gone on to play in the national championship game, with six of those teams winning the national title. The total of 51 NCAA regional hockey games which have been played at the DCU Center are currently the most in the history of the Division I men's ice hockey tournament.
