Crusaders Finish 13th at Lonnie Barton Invitational
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Senior Jake Peer finished in a tie for 31st place as an individual, to lead the Holy Cross men’s golf team to a 13th-place finish out of 20 schools in the Lonnie Barton Invitational at the LPGA International. Peer totaled a 155 over two rounds to finish at 11-over par.
Sophomore Connor Phillips tied for 54th place overall with a 158, while freshman Jack Phelan tied for 59th with a 159. In addition, senior Joe Egan and freshman Collin Fitzpatrick tied for 70th at 161.
Bethune-Cookman won the team title with a two-round total of 584, w¬¬hile Holy Cross totaled 633. Drexel’s Connor Schmidt was the individual medalist after finishing at three-under par (141).
The Crusaders return to action on Thursday, March 7, when they begin play in the Gary Freeman Invitational at the LPGA International.
