LaBarbera Earns Patriot League Rookie of the Week Honors

Holy Cross Athletics   03-04-2019

Freshman Avery LaBarbera of the Holy Cross women’s basketball team has been named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week, the league announced on Monday, March 4.

In a 1-1 week for the Crusaders, LaBarbera averaged 13.5 points, 6.5 assists and 4.5 rebounds per game. Her best all-around performance came in an 80-67 victory over Colgate on Saturday, March 2, when she scored 22 points while also tallying eight assists and five rebounds; in that game, she hit a career-high six 3-pointers, the most by a Crusader in a single game since Infiniti Thomas-Waheed tallied seven against Boston University on February 10, 2018.

LaBarbera is now a four-time Rookie of the Week selection, the most of any Patriot League freshman this season. She previously earned the honor on November 19, November 26 and December 31.

The Crusaders round out their regular season with a home contest against Lehigh on Wednesday, March 6. Tipoff is at 6:05 p.m. at the Hart Center, and $2 tickets are available as part of Fan Appreciation Night.

Season and single-game tickets to see the Crusaders are on sale now. Make sure you don’t miss the opportunity to see the best collegiate basketball in Central Massachusetts! Tickets for Holy Cross basketball can be purchased online at GoHolyCross.com/tickets or over the phone by calling 1-844-GOCROSS.
