Smiley Leads Women's Track at ECAC Championships
BOSTON -- Members of the Holy Cross women’s track and field team competed on the first day of the ECAC Championships on Saturday, March 2 at the Boston University Track and Tennis Center.
Junior Allie Smiley placed fourth in the long jump with a leap of 5.79 meters. Senior Lauren Rasmus ran the second-fastest 500 meter time in Holy Cross program history, clocking in at 1:14.91 and placing 14th.
The 4x800 contingent of junior Allison McArdle, sophomore Marina MacKinnon, freshman Grace Hoelscher and freshman Sophia Maynard ran a season-best time of 9:09.25; McArdle and Hoelscher each ran their fastest splits of the season to lead the group to a 12th-place finish.
In the 4x400, Rasmus, freshman Milly O’Brien, freshman Kelsey O’Hara and junior Caroline Frey teamed up for their second-fastest time of the season, clocking in at 3:52.36 and placing 15th. O’Brien ran a split of 58.92, her fastest of the year.
The ECAC Championships will conclude on Sunday, March 3.
