Spencer Trapp Named Atlantic Hockey Defensive Player of the Week
WORCESTER, Mass. – Senior defenseman Spencer Trapp has been named the Atlantic Hockey Defensive Player of the Week after a 1-0-1 weekend against Army West Point. This is the first weekly honor for Trapp in the 2018-19 season and the third honor for the Crusaders this season.
Trapp helped the Crusaders to a 1-0-1 weekend against the Black Knights. After a 2-2 tie on Feb. 1, Trapp and the Crusaders went on to defeat the Black Knights, 5-4, on Feb. 2. The defenseman tallied two power play goals in the opening seven minutes of the game. Trapp had a hand in another goal, as he tallied an assist on Holy Cross’ fourth goal of the night.
This is the second weekly honor for Trapp in his career. The defenseman was previously named the league’s Rookie of the Week (Dec. 1, 2015).
Holy Cross will take on RIT on Feb. 8 and Feb. 9 at the Hart Center, both games will be played at 7:05 p.m.
