
Swimming and Diving to Host Springfield on Senior Day

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams will host Springfield on Saturday, Jan. 26 for their Senior Day meet. Competition will start at 1 p.m.
Both teams are coming off a dual meet against Providence. The women defeated the Friars, 161-136, while the men fell just short. Katy Saladin (100, 200 back), Kayleigh Hoagland (100, 200 free), Isabella Miko-Rydzaj (200 fly, 200 IM), and Casey Sherman (1m, 3m dive) all won two individual events with Saladin claiming her third in the 200 medley relay. Steve Tierney led the men with victories in the 100 and 200 frees as well as the 100 fly.
Last season, both the men and women defeated Springfield. Caroline Body and Emily Sullivan had strong showings for the women, while Tierney, Kaikea Wilinski, and Kevin Lagasse paced the men.
The teams have a combined nine seniors. The student-athletes being honored on Saturday include Tierney, Lagasse, Sam Devine, David Dillard, Sean Severson, Body, Sherman, Emma Gurchiek, and Jenny O’Brien.
