Jacob Grandison Named Patriot League Player of the Week
WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross sophomore guard Jacob Grandison has been named the Patriot League Player of the Week, for competition from Dec. 24-30. This marks the second time this season he has earned Patriot League Player of the Week honors. Grandison helped lead the Crusader men’s basketball team to a 78-71 victory at Iona in its only game last week.
During the win over the Gaels, Grandison led the team with a career-high 25 points. He also tied his career-high with nine rebounds, in addition to handing out eight assists. Grandison scored 17 of his points in the final 13 minutes, including back-to-back three-pointers to put Holy Cross up by 10 with 5:53 remaining.
On the season, Grandison is averaging 15.8 points, 5.4 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game. Over the course of his collegiate career, he has now totaled 483 points, 211 rebounds, 111 assists and 36 steals.
Holy Cross (9-4 overall) returns to action on Thursday, Jan. 3, when it travels to Loyola (Md.) for its Patriot League opener at 7:00 p.m.
