Holy Cross Announces 2019 Women's Lacrosse Schedule

WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross head women’s lacrosse coach Amanda Belichick has announced the team’s schedule for the 2019 season. The women’s lacrosse 2019 slate features three 2018 NCAA Tournament participants, 16 regular season games, and six home games at Kuzniewski Field.


“I look forward to a great season of competition this year,” said Belichick. “Our out of conference schedule will provide us with great experience to head into Patriot League play in March. I expect our players to be ready to compete when we open the season against Fairfield on February 9.”


The Crusaders will open the 2019 season with consecutive home games against Fairfield (Feb. 9) and Central Connecticut (Feb. 16). The team will then hit the road to take on Monmouth (Feb. 23) and UMass Lowell (Feb. 27). Holy Cross return’s home to play host to Siena on March 2.


Holy Cross will close its non-conference schedule with consecutive road games, playing at Villanova on March 6 and at Hartford on March 9. The Crusaders will open league play at Lafayette on March 16.


On March 23, Holy Cross will host Colgate. The team will play at Army (March 27) and at Navy (March 30) before returning home to play Bucknell on April 6. On April 13, Holy Cross will play at Lehigh.


The Crusaders will host the Turnpike Trophy game against Boston University on April 17 as part of the rivalry series. On April 20, Holy Cross goes back on the road to play at American and returns home on April 26 to close the regular season with Loyola.


The Patriot League Tournament will feature a six-team field with a pair of quarterfinal games played at the site of the higher-seeded team. The six-seed will play at the three-seed and the fifth-seed at the fourth-seed. The quarterfinal winners will join the first and second-seeded teams at the site of the highest overall seed for the semifinal and final games. The Patriot League quarterfinals will be played on April 30, the semifinal on May 3 and the final on May 5.


In the 2018 season, the Crusaders made their first playoff appearance since 2015. Holy Cross played Lehigh as the sixth seeded team and were narrowly defeated in overtime, 16-15.
